The CID animal facility serves the two institutes of the center (IQAC and IDAEA) as well as other external users from public or private institutions, facilitating research with experimental animals.
The facility has qualified and accredited personnel for working with experimental animals, who are in charge of their care and maintenance and offer support and advice to researchers, while guaranteeing animal welfare in accordance with current regulations on the protection of animals used for scientific purposes, under the supervision of the CID Animal Experimentation Ethics Committee.
The animal facility has specific rooms for housing different mammalian species (rabbits, rats and mice) and an aquatic platform for zebrafish, allowing basic and applied research in different fields of science related to chemistry, biomedicine, physiology or toxicology.
It offers a polyclonal antibody production service in mice, rats, and rabbits, both for internal users and public or private institutions.
